Most of you know the story about Spark of Life. We launched this ministry following the short life of our grandson Josiah back in 2007. From the beginning it has been our desire to come alongside those who have experienced devastating loss.
A little over three years ago we took a faith journey when we left “the Pulpit” and said we were going to engage with Spark of Life fulltime. It has been the best decision we have ever made. The people we have met, the stories we have heard and the words of encouragement we have received have been a constant confirmation to us that we made the right decision.
Launching a ministry is like the “startup” of a new business. You ask yourself these questions… Are we meeting a specific need? Will this really work? Can we sustain it? Now, after 58 retreats and over 800 alumni we are not looking back. There is no doubt that Spark of Life is meeting a need. We meet folks at their most vulnerable place and they trust us with their hearts and lives. Deb and I and our team are so humbled that you would invite us into your story, your journey, and your lives. Thank you!
Like a rocket, we have been launched. We are not in orbit yet but we have reached new heights. We are so thankful for each person who has crossed our paths; who have encouraged us, prayed for and given financially to Spark. Again, thank you!
We will continue to host our retreats at no cost to our heroes, our Spark of Life guests. We raise all the funds for this ministry…retreat costs, our staff travel costs and our salaries. We have an incredible board of directors that we are accountable to. They champion this cause with us; along with many financial investors.
Because we are still a fairly new organization, our data-base of names is still fairly small. It usually takes at least five years to help get a new ministry or business into orbit. We are into our third year.
Deb and I humbly ask you to consider a gift to Spark of Life now. We are headed into the summer months where financially we know we will be challenged. WE NEED YOUR HELP.
- Would you consider a one-time gift now to Spark of Life?
- Or would you consider making a monthly gift to Spark?
- Finally, if you know of someone who might have an interest in supporting Spark of Life, or even if you can connect us with your church, please let us know.
We could not do what we do without YOU!
Thank you in advance from those who have experienced loss and are learning to “Live Forward.”
